Dear Parents,
It is hard to believe this term is well over half way and Christmas is fast approaching. The children are now very happy and established in the various groups. There are a number of dates and updates in this newsletter; we have a busy few weeks ahead.
We are holding an Open Morning on Friday 30th November from 10am to 12pm. This is an opportunity for all parents who have a child already attending, and for those who have younger children who would like to know more about the playgroup, to come along to see what we do and have a chat over coffee and cake. Please talk to the playgroup staff if you would like more details, we look forward to seeing you there.
The Playgroup Christmas Party is being held on Wednesday 19th December. If your child does not normally attend on a Wednesday but would like to come to the party they will be very welcome, please let Sue Fisher know. The Toddler Christmas party is being held the previous week on Tuesday December 11th. More details will be given nearer the time for both parties including a signing up sheet for party lunch contributions. Please could parents wrap up a small book and name it carefully to go in Santa’s sack for both the playgroup and toddler parties.
The final Toddler session of the term will be the Party on December 11th; it will reopen on Tuesday 8th January 2008. Next term we are going to trial an additional toddler session on Friday mornings, but not on the Fridays when Teddy Bear Time is held at the church. Teddy Bear Time will be on Friday January 11th so the first Friday Toddler session will be on Friday January 18th from 9.30 to 11am. From January Toddlers will be £3 a family.
There are a number of other dates for your diary coming up.
On Tuesday 27th November there will be a Chocoholics Evening from 8:00pm at 22 Cottenham Road at 8pm. This is a great chance to indulge, do some Christmas shopping and enjoy bit of a social gathering too, feel free to just pop in or stay for the evening - drinks will be provided! Friends and family members welcome too. Basically the more people that come the more we can make in fundraising. Brochures that you can order from will be available for anyone who is not able to come on the night. The next Coffee morning will be December 3rd from 10 to 11.45am in the Church Halls. Homemade cakes and hot drinks will be served. Please come and join us. Some toys will be available for younger children. We hope to have Phoenix Cards and some other stalls there too.
We are putting together a Luxury Hamper to be given as a prize for guessing its value. A great prize for Christmas! This will be at the Coffee morning, playgroup, toddler group and baby club and at the Village Carols on the Green on Wednesday December 12th. We would be grateful for donations for the hamper, a signing up sheet will be at toddlers,babyclub and playgroup. Please bring items in by November 29th. We also need help running the stall on December 12th please sign up if you can. Don’t forget to enter your own guess.
A number of the committee and other friends will be Carol Singing to raise funds on Sunday 9th December at 4pm. This year we will sing in Impington around Cambridge Road and The Coppice. Do come and join us, all are welcome, but wrap up warm and bring a torch. We will meet at the corner of The Coppice at 4pm.
The quiz night with fish & chip supper will be on Saturday 26th January; tickets will be available in the new year.
Playgroup reopens in January on Monday 7th.
Finally, as winter seems well and truly here, please ensure your child has warm clothes and a coat, all clearly named, as they will continue to use the outside area as much as possible. Please also bring a named water bottle for your child to playgroup.
