At playgroup we are committed to providing children with a safe and happy environment where they have fun, develop their social skills and benefit from a wide range of educational experiences.

We follow the Birth to Three Matters guidelines and the Foundation Stage curriculum.

We believe children learn best when they are involved in hands on play, linked to their own life experiences and interests, in a rich and stimulating environment.

Our team of early years practitioners all have relevant early years qualifications and each session is carefully planned to offer children those opportunities.

We have a small hall which we use for group activities and snack time.

We have another larger hall which is laid out with different areas such as role play, construction toys, creative area, quiet area.

We also have a large, secure garden area with an all weather surface so we can offer the children time to play outside in the fresh air throughout the year.

We run optional lunch sessions, offering up to twelve children the chance to stay and enjoy a packed lunch brought from home. The children sit in small groups at tables, together with a member of staff, to eat their lunch in a sociable and relaxed atmosphere.

Playgroup runs during term time only.

How to join playgroup

If you would like to put your child's name down for a playgroup place, or require any further information please e-mail our admissions co-ordinator Jess Monck or call her on 01223 236260. Alternatively you can call in at one of our groups to pick up an enrolment form. This does not commit you to taking a place but enables us to put you on our waiting list and offer you one when available. Once you are offered a place a registration fee of £5.00 is payable.

Playgroup fees are higher as we pay trained staff to care for your children. Payments are required in advance for each half term session. However we believe that no child should be excluded because of cost and details about financial assistance are available on request.

Children who are three in the autumn or spring terms may qualify for funding from the Local Education Authority. We also accept Busy Bees Childcare  vouchers.
